# Web Scanner

The Web Scanner is a manual tool within the extension that allows you to scan any website before interacting with it. **NOVA** performs an analysis in seconds, all automatically.

Unlike Safe Browsing, this scan is active and detailed: it analyzes domains, website structure, certificates, the presence of trackers, embedded malicious code, and connections to suspicious smart contracts. It can also detect if the site has been previously reported as dangerous.

The interface displays a clear report with the risk level (*low/medium/high*), potential threats detected, and suggestions from the AI Agent if enabled.

**Use cases:**

* *Verify links shared by unknown users*
* *Check if a new dApp is safe before connecting your wallet*
* *Confirm the authenticity of a site that looks similar to the original (e.g., an exchange or DeFi tool)*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.galaxyhub.ai/how-it-works/web-scanner.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
